WHERE YOUR
DATA ACTUALLY GOES.
Most privacy pages are written so nothing can ever be held against them. This one is written so you can check it. Last updated 16 September 2026.
YOUR FILES STAY ON YOUR COMPUTER
Your CV, your master history, your preferences, every application you track, every document Joblinko writes — all of it is written to your own hard drive, in a folder you can open, read, edit and delete. None of it is uploaded to Joblinko. There is nowhere to upload it to: Joblinko runs no servers, no database and no accounts.
YOUR MACHINE TALKS TO GMAIL DIRECTLY
If you turn on job alerts, your computer signs in to Gmail with an app password you created, reads the job-alert emails from the senders you allow, and closes the connection. The password is stored on your machine only. I cannot read your email, and no email ever passes through me.
AI RUNS THROUGH YOUR OWN ANTHROPIC ACCOUNT
This is the one place your information leaves your computer, so it is worth being precise. When Joblinko scores a job or writes a document, your computer sends what that task needs — the job description, and the parts of your history the task draws on — directly to Anthropic (the makers of Claude), using your own Claude plan or API key. Anthropic processes it and sends the answer back to your machine. Joblinko is not in the middle and never sees it. Anthropic handles that content under their own privacy terms, which is the same relationship you have with Claude when you use it yourself.
JOB BOARDS SEE AN ORDINARY VISITOR
When Joblinko reads a careers page, your computer requests that page the same way your browser would. It never signs in, never fills a form, never submits an application, and never posts anything about you.
What Joblinko does hold about you
Your email, if you write to me
If you write in, I have your email address and whatever you tell me, for as long as it takes to help.
How many machines used your access code
GitHub tells me how many different computers downloaded your copy. I look at that number for one reason: to notice when an access code is being shared. I cannot see anything about what you do with the software.
Ordinary website logs
This website is served by Cloudflare, who keep standard request logs. The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
Things I do not do
- I do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
- There are no analytics inside Joblinko. It does not report back to me — not what you searched, not what you applied to, not whether you ever opened it.
- Joblinko does not apply to jobs, message recruiters, or contact employers on your behalf. Ever.
- There is no account and no sign-up. I never need your login or your CV — there is nowhere for me to keep them.
Deleting your data
Your files are on your computer: delete the folder and they are gone. To have the records I hold removed — any emails you have sent — write to support@joblinko.co and I will delete them. Revoking the app password you gave Joblinko is done at Google, in your own account, any time.
Questions about any of this, including ones I have not thought of: support@joblinko.co. This is a personal project, so there is no promise of a reply — but I do read them.
